MDERS 2021 Fall Workshop Series: Leveraging Open-Source Intelligence for Preventative Public Safety Purposes
The Maryland-National Capital Region Emergency Response System (MDERS) is pleased to announce that we will be hosting a virtual workshop in partnership with the New York Police Department.
This virtual workshop will serve as an updated global terrorism and mass violence threat assessment while expanding on topics such as racially and ethnically motivated violent extremism, leveraging intelligence by law enforcement, developing event threat assessments, and more. Attendees will walk away with knowledge on how to identify potential threats and better prepare their jurisdictions in response to mass violence incidents through this hands-on workshop.
This virtual workshop will take place on October 6th, 2021. The following topics will be covered:
- NYPD Intelligence and Counterterrorism Analytic Support Overview for Public Sector Partners
- Updated Global Terrorism and Mass Violence Threat Environment Overview
- Recognizing Racially/Ethnically Motivated Violent Extremism (REMVE)
- Understanding the Enduring Danger of Targeted Violence against Public Officials
The primary audience for this seminar series is emerging professionals to upper-level management in:
